A rockin’ fundraiser to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.
Memory Rock Chicago was created in 2006 by Steve Monroe, Chicago author and commercial real estate consultant. At the time, Monroe had no family connection to the disease. Rather, one of his colleagues lost her father to earl onset Alzheimer’s and er mother had also been diagnosed with the disease. Monroe wanted to help raise funds and awareness and thus turned to his circle of friends. Over the years this rock concert fundraiser has featured local bands such as Dr. Bombay and Liquidated Damages. Soon a committee was formed and Memory Rock Chicago, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2016, has come to raise nearly $400,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association, since its inception. Memory Rock continues to grow thanks to the support of our dedicated committee members and generous sponsors.
